Draft
1. Scope
This proposed policy covers personal information handled by the Authobek website and platform. Applications distributed through Authobek may have separate publishers and privacy policies; those publishers are responsible for their own data practices. This draft is not yet an effective policy. The operator’s legal identity and notice address require approval before adoption.
2. Information handled
Depending on your use of the platform, information may include account email and authentication records; profile names, handles, avatars and publisher details; app submissions and package metadata; reviews and ratings; support requests, abuse reports, appeals and verification materials; and operational, security and download records. Public profile, listing and review information is visible to other users. Do not submit private information in public fields.
3. Purposes
Information is used to provide accounts and software discovery and distribution, manage submissions and reviews, respond to requests, investigate reports, protect the service against abuse, and understand platform operation. Before adoption, the operator must confirm the applicable lawful basis for each purpose and any consent requirements. This draft does not assert regulatory registration or compliance certification.
4. Download and install information
Downloads, user-confirmed installs and optional developer-reported first launches are separate records. Clicking Yes is a user confirmation, not device detection. A developer-integrated app may report a first-launch event with an event identifier, release information and, when supplied, a pseudonymous device hash or country. These signals are not added together as verified installations. Pseudonymous identifiers may still be personal information; developers must provide any required notice and lawful basis.
5. Storage, sharing and transfers
Browser storage may retain account sessions, preferences and installation/update hints. Service providers supporting hosting, authentication, storage and operational diagnostics may process information to run the platform. Public submissions are shared through public pages; non-public records may be disclosed where necessary to handle a request, protect rights or satisfy law. Before adoption, confirm the actual provider list, processing locations, transfer safeguards and consent requirements; this draft does not promise that data stays in Uganda.
6. Retention and security
Proposed approach: retain information only as needed for the stated purposes, legal duties and proportionate security or dispute records; delete or anonymise it when no longer needed. The operator must approve a category-specific retention schedule and deletion procedure before adoption. No fixed deletion period or fully implemented deletion guarantee is claimed here. Access controls and security measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Requests and changes
You may contact support to request access, correction or deletion, raise an objection, or ask about applicable privacy rights. Identity checks may be necessary, and lawful retention exceptions may apply. Applicable rights and regulatory contacts must be confirmed for the final policy. Material revisions should be dated and made available before taking effect. For questions, privacy requests or legal notices, contact support@authobek.dev or use the Contact / Support page. Do not include passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
